Stop by The Shoppes of Beacon Light for a Fat Friday Mardi Gras Celebration at Fashion by Monica. This Friday, March 7 starting at 6pm.
The Lighthouse Point Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that preparations have begun for their 10th Annual Taste of Lighthouse Point. The Taste is the Lighthouse Point Chamber of Commerce’s signature wine and food event, and 2014’s promises to be the best ever.
This year’s chair is Brett Hart. Mr. Hart has been involved with the Chamber for many years, and is excited about the opportunity to shape it.
“The Taste has been one of my favorite events for a long time,” he said. “The Lighthouse Point Chamber of Commerce, our sponsors and participating restaurants all work really hard to make this an amazing evening and our most successful fundraiser.”
His co-chair is Chris Wood, Sales & Service Manager at GFS Marketplace. Wood will help coordinate the local eateries which are participating in the event.
Held at the Lighthouse Point Yacht & Racquet club on January 21, 2014, the Taste features signature dishes and drinks from 25 – 30 local restaurants. Be sure and save the date now.
Restaurants to date include: Bobby Rubino’s, Bonefish Macs, Cafe Maxx, Cap’s Place, Edible Arrangements, El Tamarindo Cafe, GFS Marketplace, Gimme A Burger, Hott Leggz, Lighthouse Point Yacht Club, Lito’s Surf & Turf, Nauti Dawg, Olympia Flame Diner, The Perfect Pairing, Red Fox Diner, Tumminello’s and Your Pie.
The Lighthouse Point Chamber of Commerce uses the money raised at this annual fundraiser to support local schools, charities and to promote local businesses. They have donated to Norcrest Elementary’s adopt-a-classroom program, have supported Relay For Life, the Lighthouse Point Fire Department, the LHP Library and many other great causes over the years. Sponsors such as this year’s platinum sponsor The Shoppes at Beacon Light along with Bank United, Kall Graphics and Minuteman Press help underwrite costs for the event and allows us to donate more to local groups.
New this year: The Chamber is adding a People’s Choice Award – participants will vote on the best item presented at the Taste and the winning restaurant will receive a special award.
Tickets will be $50 in advance or $60 at the door. The evening features food samples, auctions, raffles, entertainment and delicious food and wine from all over the Lighthouse Point area. The Lighthouse Point Chamber of Commerce is looking for volunteers, auction items, sponsors and more. The Lighthouse Point Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 11th Annual Taste of Lighthouse Point, on January 20th, 2015 at the Lighthouse Point Yacht and Racquet Club, from 6 pm to 9 pm. This fun filled event features local restaurants and a wonderful wine tasting. The proceeds from the Taste of Lighthouse Point funds local projects that benefit the residents and community of Lighthouse Point. Past donations have been made to the City of Lighthouse Point’s recreation department, library, fire department, as well as local scholarships for college bound students. The Lighthouse Point Chamber of Commerce has supported Shade-in-the Park, Food for the Poor, and the American Cancer Society. We also contribute to the development and support of our local businesses in Lighthouse Point.
Plans are in full swing to once again make this the Lighthouse Point Chamber’s signature event of the year. We are asking for sponsors donations of spa services / packages , dinners, gift certificates, week-end getaways, gift baskets, recreational activities, sporting events, gym memberships, cooking lessons, and golf outings to name a few. We hope to have several remarkable auction items that will draw everyone attention. In addition we will have a Chinese Auction, Wine Wagon and a $50/$50 Cash ticket drawing and golf cart raffle. No item is too small and all donations are sincerely appreciated. This is a great venue to support the local community and spotlight your business to the residents of Lighthouse Point, friends, families and business associates.

A statement was released on Wednesday June 17th, 2015 stating that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is issuing a proposed amendment that delays the effective date of the Know Before You Owe Rule (new set of mortgage disclosure forms). This means new rules don’t go into effect until October 1, 2015.

Lighthouse Point – Help the Lighthouse Point Chamber celebrate the grand opening of the much-acclaimed BurgerFi restaurant opening at 3150 North Federal Highway, Lighthouse Point on August 25. Known for their high quality, well-sourced food, owner Kevin Koury said that everything his restaurant does, they try to do it better than others.
“From natural Certified Angus burgers to hand-cut fries, frozen custard, signature hot dogs, local craft beer, wine and more: Better beef – the best money can buy. It is hormone free, antibiotic free and sourced from one of the best farms in the country,” said Koury. “Their natural practices are in line with ours – cattle roam free, eat grass and are treated humanely. We never waiver from this high standard. This doesn’t come easy – certainly not cheap. Truth is, there are simpler ways to put burgers on a bun. But, they’re not better.”
During the grand opening and official ribbon cutting, BurgerFi is going to have two giveaways for $100 apiece. They will also have several specials:
• Free regular fry with any purchase of any burger on the menu
• Free small sundae with any purchase of $10 or more from 5pm to close.
“We’re glad to welcome a new restaurant to Lighthouse Point,” said chamber president Rene Sabatini with Azure Realty. “We look forward to celebrating with them on August 25.
The ribbon cutting is at approximately 6:30pm but the celebration starts at 5pm. Join us at the new BurgerFi in Lighthouse Point and welcome this new business to the community. The new location is 3150 N. Federal Highway, Lighthouse Point. Learn more at www.burgerfi.com.
